It may be the fact that mainstream TV news channels often do not attempt to present objective, balanced and informative news, as noted in ABC News' recent censoring of Nik Wallenda's comments about Jesus Christ in their "live" minute-by-minute coverage. It may be the fact that the US government has been manipulating the 'acceptable' MSM TV views on subjects since the days when Operation Mockingbird began. US congressional reports and hearings in 1975 and 1976 proved that the CIA had been paying off editors and reporters in most mainstream media outlets. It may also be due to the fact that the Internet offers more news choices, though it is not as convenient as pressing a button on a remote control. Whatever the main reasons are, the new Gallup poll shows that mainstream TV news is at an all-time low in terms of popularity.
