Geraldo Turns: Has 9/11 Truth Reached the Tipping Point?
On November 13, 2010, TV talk show host Geraldo shifted from publicly mocking 9/11 Truth to supporting its questions on prime time television. It seems it's never too late to switch sides on an historically important issue and especially when an issue is growing in a groundswell of grassroots exposure. Geraldo also aired a clip of Larry Silverstein's controversial quotation from shortly after the tragedy:
"I remember getting a call from the, uh, fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'You know we've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is, is pull it.' Uh, and they made that decision to pull and then we watched the building collapse."
Geraldo implies he was swayed by the massive petitions and documentation of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and the organization “Building What” which recently sponsored an expensive NYC ad campaign for a valid investigation of 9/11. The organization chose the unique name because of an incident during the filing of a petition for a new investigation. The petition, filed eight years after the 9/11 tragedy, highlighted facts about the fall of WTC Building 7, including the main question “Why did Building 7 come down?” The response by the Judge, Edward H. Lehner, was “Building what?” and this revealed not only the NYC judge's ignorance but the ignorance of the general population with regard to the serious problems with the official account of the 9/11 events.
Why would Fox News, after about nine years of avoiding Building 7 and the valid questions of 9/11, suddenly give airtime to Geraldo's new change of mind? Fox News had admittedly lied in its programming and won a so-called "Constitutional right to lie" in a court verdict regarding GMO foods. So why this new fervor for 9/11 Truth? Many people are suspicious of Fox's motives.
It may be that the groundswell of information on the Internet is forcing the issue on mainstream media and Fox wants to begin damage control, to be on the right side when the issue formally blows wide open. Hollywood's James Woods and Charlie Sheen were a skeptics from the beginning. Jabber-jaw Rosie O'Donnell went public on her Truther stance in 2007, Ed Asner is preparing a new film on the subject and now Geraldo's stance may represent a serious tipping point of public opinion.
Newly Released Data
In response to a lawsuit filed against the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), responsible for investigating the technical aspects of the collapse of the WTC towers and buildings, more than 3 terabytes of data has been released for review. The organization which filed the lawsuit is the International Center for 9/11 Studies and the evidence does not look good for NIST. Over 100 eyewitness testimonies of multiple internal building explosions were completely ignored with regard to the official 9/11 report, as were videos of multiple internal explosions at the lower levels of the building strongly suggesting the buildings did not simply fall based on airline contact. It is apparent form the evidence that NIST edited several videos of the collapse of Building 7, in what seems to have been an attempt to hide evidence of a controlled demolition. The release of the video embedded below skyrocketed to #1 on Google Trends on October 6, 2010.
