The fact that none of the other top five news agencies made any significant effort to inform the public of this critical news implies their consent with the judgement and it also implies that mainstream news is not as competitive, fair and unbiased as the public is led to believe.

This court decision runs counter to established laws and legal precedents. Firstly, corporations in the past have not enjoyed the rights of personhood. Secondly, free speech is generally limited when it risks public safety. For example, it is illegal to yell "fire" in a public theater when there is no fire because people may be hurt in the resulting panic. Thirdly, cigarette companies are legally required to place warning labels on cigarette boxes and ads because cigarette smoking is known to increase the chance of lung cancer. With this precedent in mind, in the very least, mainstream news companies known to lie about cancer causing products and any other hazards should have a continuous warning label on the screen.
